Dr. Luke van der Koog earns his PhD

On January 21st, 2024, we proudly celebrate a significant achievement within the MimeCure family: Luke van der Koog has successfully defended his PhD! Under the guidance of his promotors, Prof. Erik Frijlink, Prof. Reinoud Gosens, and Prof. Anika Nagelkerke, Luke’s research laid the very foundation upon which MimeCure was built.

Luke’s PhD work has been instrumental in shaping our understanding of Mimecan and MC002 and their potential to revolutionize regenerative treatments for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). His dedication and innovative approach have been key drivers in the development of MC002, our lead candidate aimed at promoting alveolar repair rather than merely managing symptoms.

The insights gained from his doctoral research continue to propel MimeCure forward, guiding our scientific direction and reinforcing our commitment to pioneering first-in-class regenerative therapies.
