The Founding of MimeCure: A New Beginning

In April 2024, we officially founded MimeCure, building on years of research at the University of Groningen. Our work in the Groningen Research Institute of Pharmacy led to the discovery of Mimecan’s potential in treating Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). This discovery convinced us that it was time to move beyond the academic setting and focus on bringing these findings closer to clinical application.

MimeCure was established with the goal of developing new therapies for COPD, grounded in the research we’ve worked on for years. As we move forward, we’ll continue to update you on our progress as we work towards making a meaningful impact in healthcare.
